The Land of the Odd: Save Me

It's on you guys!!!  The first chapter is now up on Wattpad. So, share it with your friends. Comment what you like, what you hate, what should maybe change or maybe what needs more detail. I can't wait to hear from y'all. And if anyone has anything they need read through, please do not hesitate to ask. I would be more than happy to help out.  It takes a village, but a village is nothing if we don't help each other out.  So much love.  ♡♡♡♡♡

Wattpad

What is it? An online platform for writers to gain a following with their work.  Where can I find it? www.wattpad.com Okay, so these are the only two questions I can think of anyone having. If you have more, let me know and I'll answer! I have decided to take my blogging to Wattpad. No, not completely. Just for my major project, The Land Of The Odd: Save Me . This will not only encourage me to keep working, but it'll help me get into habit of writing every day. From there I should also be able to post often about it and gain a following for my book as well as get first impressions for it as it will be the first draft that will be posted. Each week or every other week I aim to post a chapter. I will attempt to post on Fridays since Wednesdays are for vocabulary. Yes, it may be an amature way of doing so, but hey, you have to start somewhere.  So, if you'd like to get a peek at the book from start to finish, check it out and follow me on Wattpad @Lit...

Happy Rule

This is why I will never stop writing. It not only makes me happy but it is bound to be someone else's happy place. That is what I strive for and am working for.

My Vocab List: Week One

You're never too old to learn new words. I'll admit it. I didn't pay as much attention in class as I should've. So I'm working on making up for that. My word list this week so far is:  Arrogant  Fragile  Prerequisite Demonstrative  Ululate  Collude  Dismay  Pathos  Transmogriphy  My word of the day: arcanum  My goal is to add 3 words every other day of the week. The list starts every Wednesday and will be posted then along with the week before's list. Every day I will have a new word of the day.  Feel free to tag along with me! Comment your progress. Or just tell me what the words made you think of. Knowledge is power so don't be scared to learn new things.

Valentine's Day ❤❤

Happy Valentine's Day! I hope everyone has had a great day. I spent my day with my mom as it is her birthday and my daughter. I have literally been doing everything but crafting, but good-ish news. I'm working on a sculpture based on a sketch I've been doing since high school. I'm hoping to do it justice and that I can bring it to life. (Though, not literally because its a skull spider and spiders are disgusting.) Anyway, after I finish it, and as I work on it I will be working on a new short story AND chapter 2 in my novel.  * * * * BY THE WAY Here's a cool quick fact:  Valentine's Day originated in Rome. It was originally a festival to help celebrate spring and fertility rites. They also celebrated The pairing off of women to men by lottery. (Thank God that doesn't happen anymore...that I'm aware of?) Though it was first called Lupercalia, Pope Gelasius I renamed it St. Valentine's Day by the end of the fifth century. <D...

Absence

I would also like to apologize for my absence. This week has went by extremely quick and I have had other things going on. I haven't been able to write anything this week but am going to be working on it as soon as I can.

Available:

While I am focused on my writing, I also have some bookmarks available. They are 1$ a piece or two for $1.50. So, if you're interested, email me. @ CassColl123@gmail.com   I may also end up with other journal/book accessories available as I sometimes find that crafting helps me clear my head for writing.  The bookmark styles I have are:   - magnetic: They hold about 8 pages at a time.   - classic style: Just place them in between the pages to mark your spot! Coming soon: I will be making an insertable ribbon bookmark. They can be placed in the opening of the book's spine for an easy removal.  Note: I will post pictures soon sometime tonight to give a visual.

What To Do

I've completed the first chapter and I feel relieved. Anyone who writes knows the struggle of writing that first chapter. My problem is motivation. That and my toddler harassing me every chance she gets. Being a parent has got to be my favorite thing in the world. It's also probably one of the most exhausting. But she's worth it. Anyway, now that I have that done, I only have to do at least one more chapter this month. While I would much rather get all of it done in one go, scribbling down chapter after chapter until my hand goes numb and then probably attempting to continue with my other hand before giving up because it looks like chicken scratch, I'm trying to pace myself so I don't feel overwhelmed and get bored with it. For the time being, I'm gonna plan and outline short stories for next month in between chapters. I hate having to leave pieces alone before editing and writing another draft. I'm eager to get something-ANYTHING published just to have it...

Anxiety And Angst

I'm anxious. Why am I anxious?  It's probably mostly from the caffeine I've consumed on an empty stomach. I also want to work on my book but I also want to make more notebooks because whoever has enough, right?? I want to journal and work on my vocabulary. I have so many things running through my head. I have stories that still don't have book covers that should have them along with them needing to be made into hard copies for a beta reader. ( Again, if you'd like to volunteer to work with me on a story, feel free to email me.)  I'm fighting myself between having one beta reader and staying with them the whole time and having a different person for each piece. Does anyone have an opinion?? Back to the hard copies--- I know that not only is my hand is going to be ready to fall off but I'm going to be procrastinating and in return get upset because I could be working on my book.  I don't know why I keep doing this. I want to work on the book so badl...

Patience

Patience, Patience, Patience (Something I'm NOT good at.) Last month, I finished a short story. Well, I finished the first draft at least. I'm confident in it. However, I know that I will have to set it to the side for a couple weeks to a couple months before I can allow anyone to read it (Anyone want to be my beta reader?). I absolutely suck at waiting to edit a piece.  But, I know that good things come to those who wait, patience is key and any other silly cliche about patience that's been drilled into our heads since middle school.

Short Story update!

Mirror, Mirror          1. What's it about? -Have you heard the theory about a connection between mirrors and the paranormal world?  They say that mirrors are some sort of portals to the other side.  There's always talk about multiple universes as well. Toss in a demon and a doppelganger and you can get a basis of what can happen. Though I hope you can't see the picture, because that makes it predictable, right??         2. Who are they? -Lanely is a tomboy. She's all into the freaky things that make everyone shudder. She loves anything that would make most people cringe. There's nothing that she loves and cares more about than her best friend, Zoey. -Zoey. They say that opposites attract. Maybe that's why she has such a great bond with Lanely. She's girly and soft as a bunny. Don't let her sweet smile fool you, though. She's feisty when she needs to be.  I wrote this short story in January. I'm not ...

Welcome!!!

Welcome to Cassidy's Chaotic Creations! Before you read, please allow me to address some questions you may have. 1. What is this? It's a blog where I plan to hype up any of my WIPs (Works In Progress), maybe post a prompt that inspired me along with a response to it, and generally any writing-related thought I may have that I feel is worth sharing.  2. Who are you? Uhm... Cassidy. I'm a young (early twenties) aspiring writer who's working on her self confidence. I want/ need to become both comfortable and confident enough to not only put my work out there but to get it published. It's not for the money. (which is a plus anyway) I want to help readers escape to another world through my stories.  3. What do you write? As of right now, (February 3rd, 2020) I write short stories and have been working on an actual book on and off.  4. Which do you prefer? I like them both. I enjoy the book because I get to add a ton of detail and shifts into a story....
