Vocabulary: Week One Review

While I did not entirely complete my first week of vocabulary, I was able to memorize/learn all but one word. Here is the updated list WITH their definitions (according to my workbook).

1. Arrogant: (adj) self-impressed, haughty
2. Roguish: (adj) immoral and disreputable but in a way that is charming
3. Fragile: (adj) very delicate, likely to break
4. Prerequisite: (n) something that must be fulfilled before something else can happen
5. Demonstrative: (adj) emotionally expressive
6. Ululate: (v) to howl like a wolf
7. Collude:(v) to conspire
8. Dismay: (n) sudden loss of courage, sudden disappointment
9. Pathos: (n) a feeling of sadness
10. Transmogriphy: (v) to warp
11. Arcanum: (n) information known only to a special group
12. Condolence: (n) regret
13. Conjugal: (adj) pertaining to the relationship between husband and wife
14. Denude: (v) to strip bare, remove any trace of
15. Hake: (n) a wide, flat, soft paintbrush originating in Japan, typically having bristles of goat hair and used especially in watercolor painting

My plan is to pick a handful of vocabulary words from my workbook each Wednesday. I have them each written down on a piece of paper and put into a jar. The first week was 10 words to start plus a daily word from an app. Then every day after that I learn a new word of the day plus three more chosen from the jar at random. Each new week, I add one more word to pull. (Ex: week one: pull ten words. week two: pick eleven words, etc) Each additional day will always be three words. I am going to try to do better at pulling words each day. However, I will not be pulling any words on Saturday or Sunday as I plan to have those as review days.
